Friendship Chevrons

I like to show my customers how to get the most of out of their tools and this card does just that!  Here is another fun way to use the Banner Triple Punch - make chevrons and arrange them in a beautiful ombre pattern.

Gather your supplies:
Stamp Sets:  Beautiful Friendship and Positive Thoughts
Ink colors:  Pretty Peacock, Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana
Paper cutting and scoring:

  • Whisper White 8-1/2” x 5-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”; 2-3/4” square

  • Pretty Peacock 1-1/2” x 4-1/4”, 3” square

  • Bermuda Bay 1-1/2” x 4-1/4”

  • Pretty Peacock 1-1/2” x 4-1/4”

  • Any color scrap 5-1/2” x 1-3/8” to use as a placement     guide
  •
Other Tools:  Banner Triple Punch, Pearl Basic Jewels, Pretty Peacock Stampin' Blends, Layering Circles Dies, Die Cut machine

Die cut the circles - use the second largest for the Pretty Peacock and third largest for the Whisper White.  Cut both circles in half.

Stamp the flowers using Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana and the saying with Pretty Peacock. Adhere the white half circles to the Peacock half circles with glue.

Cut chevrons by placing the cardstock strip into the punch and pushing all the way in.  Cut, then push all the way in again and repeat until you have four of each color.

Use the scrap paper as a guide by placing it along the fold (you may even want to use a post-it to hold it in place).  Adhere one of the Bermuda Bay chevrons near the middle of the card along the edge of your guide.  Place another chevron next to it as a place holder (no glue!), and adhere chevrons to the right and left to complete the color pattern as shown.  Trim the chevrons that go off the sides of your card.

Pop up the half circles using dimensionals above and below the row of chevrons.

Use the dark Pretty Peacock blend to color three pearls and adhere them to the sentiment half circle.

If desired, stamp a flower in all three
ink colors on the inside corner of your card, stamping off one time for each color.

I hope you give this card a try!  I love punches because they are quick, easy to use, and don't require any other equipment.  Make some banners, or make some chevrons - see what you can do today!
